Secret Technique for Philips Pasta Maker

The noodle is pretty good after you follow the standard program in the Philips Pasta Maker. However, I find that the bounciness (elasticity) is not enough for my preference. This can be solved by adjusting the kneading and resting time. There are 2 programs in this machine (10 minutes and 15 minutes). The first 3 minutes in each of the program is for kneading purpose. After you turn on the machine, it will automatically start the kneading process for 3 minutes. I then power it off and wait for about 15 to 30 seconds. This will allow the machine to shut down all the electronic components completely. It can keep your machine to last longer. Then power on the machine and start another 3 minutes kneading. I then repeat this process one more time. After the total of 9 minutes kneading, I power off the machine and let it rest for 30 minutes. The purpose of this 30 minutes is to allow enough time for the noodle dough to complete all the internal chemical process which is similar to the process of making bread. I then turn on the machine again by choosing one of the program depending of the serving portion. This small secret technique is to adjust the kneading time manually in order to increase the bounciness of noodle. You can then simply follow your own recipe to cook your favorite noodle.

Easy homemade Ramen Noodle by Philips Paste Maker

I like to eat noodle and I have used this machine for a year. This is easy and fun to use. I use it almost every week. After putting all ingredients, choosing program and pressing start button, the machine automatically mixes, kneads and extrudes in one step. 





It comes with special design discs to create different type of noodle/pasta. It can make up 2 to 3 people portion in 10 minutes or 4 to 5 people portion in 15 minutes.


I will show you my secret technique to make the noodle or pasta with your personal preference.
It is very easy and convenient to buy noodles from your local supermarket. However, the reason why those noodles can be kept for a long time is because they have added preservatives (TBHQ, tertiary butylhydroquinone). TBHQ is a byproduct of petroleum. It cannot be digested in your stomach and is not beneficial to your body. In addition to making your own noodles, you have control of all the ingredients. MSG (Monosodium glutamate) is another type of chemical put into your noodle by restaurants. Furthermore, there are a lot of people who are allergic to MSG. With this machine, you can make fresh and healthy noodles. Remember, you are what you eat.


I purchased the Philips Pasta Maker (Philips Advance Pasta Maker) from Bestbuy for CAD$249. It regularly prices at $299. You can also buy it from Sears, Canadian Tire and Amazon as well. I did lengthy research on which noodle machine to buy. There are other noodle machines in the market which are made in Taiwan. Personally, I like the beauty and solid feel of the Philips Pasta Maker.

This machine is very easy to clean. All the parts can be detached easily, featuring special design tools for one-push cleaning.


The package also includes 2 measuring cups. One for liquid and one for flour. In my own opinion, I don’t use the measuring cup for flour, instead I use a measuring scale for accurate measurement of flour and other ingredients.





The general ingredients include all purpose flour, bread flour (higher protein), semolina flour, vital white gluten, salt, egg, water, kansui (sodium bi-carbonate), baking soda, carrot juice, spinach juice, etc. The more experiences you have, the more ingredients you can find. Depending on the type and ratio of different ingredients, you can access unlimited noodle recipes.
